What is Social Justice?
Social Justice is the power to make a change for those who do not have a voice. Too many times in history, people of color have been neglected. There is only so much a community can take from the same injustice made. What are the obstacles? Most obstacles are due to a disagreement with the law. My Vision for the Struggle? First and foremost, my vision for struggle is organization. People must know what their role or responsibility is: call media, give information out of next sessions, make posters to bring awareness, or simply attend. People must know what they were fighting. Why they’re fighting for it, where they will protest, and when the protests occur. My role in the struggle My role is to stay informed of what goes on in my community and issues going on around the world. The newspaper, news, Twitter, and Facebook does an excellent job on keeping updated on the struggles. Once I am updated I will investigate what people are doing to fight injustice and see if there is any way I can participate to bring awareness and possibly make a change. My issue The issue I will be focusing on is child abuse. My topic connects to Social Justice because I strongly believe we can all help make a change for the children who do not have a voice. My role in the struggle is to become aware of the statistics of child abuse and then share them with peers at my school. I will also share links of places people can go to to report cases of abuse. My vision is to have people know that there are resources people may use to possibly save a life, and prevent children from being scarred for life. |
