National Context How does this issue impact the United States?
Child abuse impacts the whole united states in many ways. two of those things that are major are social and economic consequences. The cost related to the abuse caused to children for example like hospital cost for medical treatment of injuries as a result to the abuse. Another example is foster care cost. These are two major examples some less directly tied to the incidence of abuse can include lower academic achievement, adult criminality, and lifelong mental health problems. Both direct and indirect cost impact our society and economy.
Discussing and researching about the neglect of children there are different elements of success to help these kids using case work practice for example what some agencies are doing and ways agencies can include child welfare to chronic neglect with prevention and early intervention efforts.
The way this is affecting economically is the money being used for these children. The child neglect and abuse affects over 1 million children every year and child abuse and neglect cost our nation around $270 million everyday.
This is used for investigation for foster care medical and mental health treatment and other cost across the lifespan of these children. We paid around $80 billion to address the problem we have with child abuse and neglect
